Karan Bajwa appointed as leader for Google Cloud in Asia Pacific

BFI presidency aspirant Shelar requests Goyal to restore railway fare concessions for sportspersons

by Samiksha Mumbai, January :   Former Maharashtra Sports Minister Ashish Shelar has demonstrated his love for sports and sportspersons across the country by requesting Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal to restore the fare concessions for athletes travelling for various sports meets. The concessions, across 38 categories which include sportspersons and senior citizens, were stopped by the Railways Ministry through its circular on March 19, 2020 in a move to discourage train journey and contain the spread of COVID-19. With sporting activity resuming in the country now, a large number of sportspersons are heavily dependent on the railways for their travel and the fare concessions help state associations ease the financial burden of sending their athletes for various all India, state and national events. Delhi HC instructs BFI to complete elections by Feb 3, Adv Shelar welcomes decision

by Samiksha New Delhi, January:   In a strongly worded oral order, the Delhi High Court instructed the recalcitrant Boxing Federation of India (BFI) to strictly adhere to its revised election schedule, and complete the entire process by February 3, 2021. Taking up the Uttar Pradesh boxing Association’s petition against president Ajay Singh’s unilateral decision to circumvent the democratic process in December, the Court ruled that there was no question of not sticking to the schedule any further. The BFI had postponed the elections from December 18, after the process had begun, earning the wrath of the Court as well as the boxing fraternity. MG Motor India ends year on a high note, generates 5,000 HECTOR and 200 EV bookings in December; Highest in 2020

MG Motor India Posts Strong Growth in 2020 with 77 % growth over 2019   by Samiksha Gurugram, January, 2021 : MG Motor India has closed the year on a strong note, gathering 5,000 HECTOR and 200 EV bookings in December, the highest figure for 2020. The carmaker has reported retail sales of 4010 units, (including 3430 units of Hector) during December 2020, a growth of 33% against the same month last year. The company also recorded 77% growth in total sales during the year 2020 over last year, despite continuous local supply chain bottlenecks. The carmaker also announced that it will be taking preventive annual maintenance shutdown at its Halol manufacturing facility in Gujarat during the first 10 days of January 2020, which would affect its production in January. This coupled with lockdown restrictions could hamper supply chain as well.
