Top 3 Charity Dreams will come true; Gather to “Show Your Love” in Taiwan in October
Taiwan Excellence is giving back to the society and spreading love across Asia. Organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) across 5 markets in Asia, the charity-themed campaign “Taiwan Excellence Cares” has attracted huge numbers of caring people to vote for the Top 20 charity proposals in its Stage 2 “Vote for Love” program. The program has already received more than 100,000 votes in India out of a total of 300,000 votes overall. The Top 3 charity proposals from India were officially announced today. Taiwan Excellence will help these participants implement their charity ideas.
Starting with the launch of Stage 1 “Connecting Love” of its campaign in June 2013, “Taiwan Excellence Cares” encouraged people to sign up to raise donations for the humanitarian organization World Vision. An amount of US$10,000 was raised in India, all of which will be used for the welfare of needy children. The announcement will be made at a press conference in Mumbai on Sep 2, 2013. Stage 2 “Vote for Love” invited participants with the top 20 charity points to plan for a charity program using US$10,000 worth of Taiwan Excellence products. The participants were to then upload their proposals online and promote them through social networks to gain votes. The program made a huge buzz online, attracting over 300,000 votes within two weeks.
According to TAITRA, the best feature of “Taiwan Excellence Cares” is that it invites Indian consumers to build the structure for this event. “Consumers take initiative and transform themselves into charity ambassadors and become a part of the charity event, thereby spreading the message of the ‘Excellent Lifestyle by Taiwan Excellence”, said Emma Yang, Director, Taipei World Trade Centre Liaison Office. She further praised this year’s Big Idea campaign for successfully incorporating corporate social responsibility (CSR), stating, “The campaign took on the fresh marketing and branding strategy of giving back to the community. Taiwan Excellence Cares spread its charitable acts across Asia, which successfully attracted media and consumer attention, and promoted the Taiwan Excellence motto of bringing our consumers excellent lifestyles.”
The celebrity ambassador of Taiwan Excellence, renowned Bollywood actress Malaika Arora Khan was deeply moved by the Top 3 charity proposals, saying, “Charity remains as significant as ever and it is heartening to see it spread roots and take new shapes. Taiwan Excellence is bringing its excellent lifestyles to the Indian market, and giving back to the community by helping those in need."
The top 3 proposals are custom-made for Calcutta Muslim Orphanage in West Bengal, Krishna Prabhu Old Age Hospital in Pune, and Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad, with the intent of bettering the living conditions and education for their inmates. Rizwan Siddiquee, the finalist who designed the proposal titled “Fostering Excellent Lifestyles for Underprivileged Posterity”, said, “Taiwan Excellence Cares gave me the opportunity to plan and execute my charity idea. Now not only can I help people in a way I want to, I also have a deep understanding of Taiwan Excellence products.”
“Taiwan Excellence Cares” Stage 3, “Show Your Love” will kick off soon. The Top 3 participants will implement their charity proposal under the supervision and with the assistance of Taiwan Excellence. The 3 participants will attend a press conference in Taipei, Taiwan in October 2013.
