FICCI FLO comes Face to Face with the Mumbai police on Women Safety Day

Mumbai 19th August 2019: FICCI FLO Mumbai Chapter
held an interactive session to resolve queries and doubts on Women’s safety at
work and in the digital space at MCA Club BKC, Mumbai. The workshop was graced
by Dr.
Rashmi Karandikar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Port Zone, Mumbai. This
event was sponsored by Vodafone Sakhi –a unique safety service for women.
The
key speakers were greeted by Ms. Anuradha Bhatia, Chairperson of FICCI FLO. The
people joining this event from Mumbai police department as key speakers were Mrs. Sharmila Sahasrabuddhe, Police Inspector, cybercrime branch and Mrs. Surekha Dige, Assistant Police Inspector; Crime against Women, cybercrime branch
and Ms. Shama Sayyad, PSI Mumbai
Police. They highlighted the need to spread the awareness for cybercrime
and different sections/articles on laws for women’s safety at work.
The
events was primarily focused on increasing cognizance against cyber theft, cyber
stalking, fake news, Web Hijacking, etc. This programme also showcased on how
Mumbai police’s Twitter handle work for road safety and cyber security 24/7.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Anuradha Bhatia, Chairperson of
FICCI FLO said, “We at FICCI FLO Mumbai
were honored to conduct face To face interaction with the Mumbai police. It is
very relevant to bring out key issues related to women's safety and how we can
stay vigilant to prevent them on a daily basis”.

Ten years ago. Flo had
started an annual flagship event called Face to Face with the government. It was
conceptualized on a very simple principle that bringing government, senior bureaucrats and citizen on one platform will make
a collaborative effort which could guide us to become a responsible citizen.
What are our responsibilities as an educated and civilized citizens? How will a
responsible government save us from issues pertaining to women safety and
security? This effort of our organization has resulted in a very well received
program by our members as it offered answers to their trivial and complex
queries pertaining to women safety across the country.
