CASMB's 'Prerna' Women Empowerment Summit to be Held in Mumbai on 17 March

Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar as Chief Guest; Padma Bhushan Prof. J.B. Joshi to Deliver Keynote; CASMB's 6th Foundation Day Celebration Also Planned
Mumbai, 13 March 2026: The Chamber for Advancement of Small and Medium Businesses (CASMB) is organising the 'Prerna' Women Empowerment Summit and CASMB's 6th Foundation Day on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, from 1:00 PM onwards at the 'Bharat Ratnam' Hall (6th Floor), SEEPZ, Andheri East, Mumbai. Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Mrs. Sunetra Pawar, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest, while noted television actor and former Member of Parliament, Dr. Nitish Bharadwaj, will participate as Guest of Honour.
CASMB National President Mr. Nilesh Lele said, "Women's entrepreneurship is not merely a social issue — it is the backbone of India's economic growth. The 'Prerna' Summit is a vital platform to connect women entrepreneurs with global markets, provide them appropriate guidance, and build their networks. On the occasion of CASMB's 6th Foundation Day, we are bringing together experts from across India and abroad — a true reflection of our Mission."
CASMB Director General Dr. Umesh Kamble said, "Increasing women's participation in the MSME sector is not just about empowerment — it is a means of direct contribution to the nation's GDP. Through the 'Prerna' Summit, we aim to formulate concrete action plans for women entrepreneurs, women farmers, and first-generation entrepreneurs. We are realising this vision through our Startup Buddy, Finance Facilitation, and Technology Transfer initiatives."
Inauguration Ceremony (2:00 PM – 2:45 PM)
The inauguration will begin with a welcome address by CASMB President Dr. Prabodh Halde. Distinguished guests will include Mr. Ajay Jhunjhunwala (Managing Director, JR Agro), Mr. Puru Gupta (Founder, True Elements), and Dr. Satyen Kumar Panda (Consultant, Quality Assurance, FSSAI, Government of India). The Keynote Address will be delivered by Padma Bhushan Prof. J.B. Joshi, Vice Chancellor, Institute of Chemical Technology. CASMB National President Mr. Nilesh Lele will deliver the vote of thanks.
Thought Leadership Symposium (2:45 PM – 3:45 PM)
The symposium will be moderated by Ms. Harsha Almad, Vice President, Global People & Change, Wipro. Keynote panelists include: Ms. Nicole C. Podesta (Senior Attaché, Agricultural Affairs, US General Consulate, Mumbai); Ms. Maria Silvina Costa (Head of Trade, Argentine Consulate); Dr. Shilpa Vora (Chief R&D Officer, Marico Limited); Dr. Mridula Devi (Director, Central Institute for Women in Agriculture); Ms. Viju Shirsat (Joint Director, Industry Department, Government of Maharashtra); and Ms. Komal Shah Bhukhanwala (Executive Director, SML Limited).
Power Talk & Member Experience Session (4:45 PM – 6:00 PM)
In the 'Power Talk' session, Mr. Prasad More, Managing Director, Foodchain ID India, will share insights on opportunities in the food industry. The 'CASMB Member Journey' session will spotlight success stories from CASMB's member community.
Awards & Felicitation Ceremony (6:45 PM – 8:30 PM)
Deputy Chief Minister Mrs. Sunetra Pawar will felicitate distinguished achievers from the MSME sector, women's entrepreneurship, and the food-agri processing industry. Dr. Nitish Bharadwaj's inspirational address will be a highlight of the evening. The event will conclude with a Networking Dinner at 8:30 PM.
